Cadiz, Spain -- March 2, 2022

 Cadiz, Spain

Cadiz, Spain -- March 2
Cadiz is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in southern Europe.  We were docked next to the city wall entrance, making it an easy place to explore.
Cadiz is beautifully
perched on a narrow strip of land surrounded by water on three sides. Narrow tiled passageways open into clean, ornate plazas. Streets are cleaned every night in Cadiz!! Many towers still stand from the days when merchants used them to search the sea for their returning ships. The baroque cathedral is the last one built in Europe. We wandered through clean, unlittered lush parks along the water and found an old fortress that was well worth exploring. Cadiz is a great place to walk about and to sit and people watch.
